When I was a kid my Grandma and I used to go on searches for the most beautiful lupine in coastal California. When we'd find them, we'd picnic and paint them. Now every time I see a lupine, I feel like it's magical and brings back sweet memories.

This series of paintings plays with color, shape and form in a way that resembles my quilts. The lines are playfully imperfect, and the colors experiment with unusual combinations.
